NEWBARK DOG PARK
Newark’s first dog park - NewBark Dog Park - will be located at Newark Community Park, along Cedar Boulevard between Newark Boulevard and Chapman Drive. The new dog park will provide such amenities as separated fence-enclosed areas with double-gated entrances and exits for small and large dogs, shaded seating, agility equipment, and water for both canines and owners.

Join us as we open and celebrate Newark’s FIRST dog park! This FREE event starts at 10:00 am with comments from Mayor Al Nagy, followed by the official ribbon cutting and opening of the park for dogs and their owners to play and socialize. Construction began in August 2019 and is scheduled to be completed in late Winter 2020. To allow the new grass enough time to firmly take root, NewBark Dog Park will remain closed to the public until late March 2020. CONCEPTUAL MASTER PLAN
On March 22, 2018 Newark City Council approved the Conceptual Master Plan for the new dog park at Newark Community Park.
COST
Construction costs for the new dog park is estimated at $820,000.
