Ana Apodaca

Council Member Ana Apodaca originally served on the Newark City Council from 2005 to 2014.  She was recently appointed to the City Council to fill a vacancy through the certification of the November 5, 2024, election results. 

Ana is a long-time resident of Newark, attended local schools, and is a graduate of CSU Hayward (now CSU East Bay). She works in the community and government relations sector and previously worked with the California Legislature for nearly a decade to solve local, regional and statewide issues.

Ana thrives on giving back to her community and has been actively involved in public service throughout the East Bay. She served over 20 years as a Board Member on the Hispanic Community Affairs Council. She also has serves as a Puente Mentor at Chabot College.
