To report a streetlight issue in Newark, California, please send an email to public.works@newark.org or leave a message on our Streetlight Hotline (510) 578-4263. Please be prepared to provide the following information:
Pole # (a 2, 3, or 4-digit number found on the lower, street-facing portion of the pole - not the yellow tag).
- Or the address nearest the pole. Not sure of the address, or maybe there isn’t an address? Google Maps can be useful to find the location: https://www.google.com/maps
- Describe the nature of the problem (complete outage, dim, flickering like a strobe light, cycling on/off, on during daylight hours, etc.)
- Your Name, Address, and Phone number in case we have follow-up questions.
Repairs are reported to our contractor weekly, typically on Mondays. If you experience a streetlight problem for more than two weeks, please contact us again. Sometimes the troubleshooting process of repairing a streetlight will take one or two call backs. Lights inside public parks should be reported to the Maintenance Division: maintenance@newark.org or by calling (510) 578-4806.
