The Newark News is a newsletter that is mailed to all residents and businesses. The Newark News highlights City projects, development, and public safety issues. It will notify you of any changes in solid waste collection, street construction and maintenance schedules, recreational events, and fiscal issues.

TextMyGov is another way to stay connected to the City of Newark. Use your phone's text messaging service to find information and report issues!  To get started, text Hi or any featured keywords to 510.903.4NWK (4695).  To see a list of possible key words, visit the city's website at www.newark.org/residents/textmygov.  Once on the page, click on Key Words and a new page will appear with a list of words.

Radio 1610 am

Tune into Radio 1610 am, the City's radio station which broadcasts safety, health, and emergency messages. It will be a primary source of information to the public in the event of a major disaster, such as an earthquake, flood, or fire.

 

cable tvCable Television/Webstreaming

City Council and Planning Commission meetings are cablecast live on Government Access Channel 26. City Council meetings are held the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, beginning at 7:00 pm. Planning Commission meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, beginning at 7:30 pm. These meetings are also streamed live on the City's YouTube Channel and are archived for a period of time.
