SYNTHETIC TURF FIELDS AT SPORTSFIELD PARK
| The Citywide Parks Master Plan identifies the replacement of nearly six acres of grass turf currently utilized as sports fields at the eastern end of Sportsfield Park with all-weather fields constructed from synthetic grass-like material. The City Council will be reviewing the Final Conceptual Master Plan for the Sportsfield Park Synthetic Turf Fields.

A Community Workshop for the new Sportsfield Park Synthetic Turf Fields was held on Tuesday evening, August 14, 2018 at the Silliman Center. The City’s design consultant, Verde Design, Inc. presented a Preliminary Conceptual Master Plan for the new sports fields. Residents and representatives from local sports organizations showed their support of the synthetic turf fields and were given the opportunity to express their opinions and provide feedback on the layout included in the Preliminary Conceptual Master Plan.
Verde Design has taken all of the suggestions and ideas shared at the workshop and used them to develop a Final Conceptual Master Plan for the Sportsfield Park Synthetic Turf Fields, which will be presented to the City Council for review and approval on Thursday evening, September 13, 2018 at 7:30pm at the City Hall Council Chambers.

Construction of the Synthetic Turf Fields is anticipated to begin in Spring 2019.
