The Newark Volunteer Cadet Program provides an opportunity for young adults between the age of 21-24 to receive "hands-on" experience in day-to-day law enforcement related duties. This program is essentially a continuation of the Explorer Program which is designed for youth ages 14-20.

As a Volunteer Cadet, your duties may include:

• Miscellaneous office duties;
• Assisting citizens at the front counter;
• Providing information at community events; and
• Supporting various divisions within the police department with specific projects/programs.
