The City of Newark Public Works Department has begun preliminary engineering for the conceptual design of roadway and drainage improvements within the Lindsay Tract neighborhood. The project will include the following:
-
Roadway pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation
-
New concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter
-
Storm drain improvements to prevent localized ponding
-
Landscaped-based stormwater treatment measures (i.e. Green Infrastructure)
In addition, the City is partnering with the Alameda County Water District (ACWD) to upgrade and replace aging water main pipes. The water main replacement will be entirely funded through ACWD’s Capital Improvements Program budget.
This project is partially funded by Measure B, the County half-cent sales tax and Measure BB, which voters approved in 2014 to extend and augment the existing transportation sales tax (Measure B).
